This article stresses the evolving problem from the legal standpoint. However it is imperative to look at the effects that these artificial drugs have on the one using them. When paranoia sets in and the user starts self mutilating themselves or others them it becomes a problem in our whole society.
The dilemma becomes apparent when users are so out of control that they become a danger. Using most drugs, normally just hurts the user. However “bath salts” endangers everyone, and the sad part is that we do not know the long term effects on the user, which will be devastating. If the evidence of emergency room calls and visits are any indicator, then the bodily danger will be immense.
